Alex Siegers is an Australian vocalist whose solo work spans early music, jazz, contemporary music and musical theatre. With a background in jazz performance and extensive experience in sacred and classical repertoire, she moves between musical styles with curiosity and versatility, bringing a distinctive perspective to each.
Her solo oratorio engagements include works by Bach, Handel, Purcell and Legrenzi, performed with organisations including the Australian Haydn Ensemble, Sydney Cantata Project, the Choir of St James’ and Laguna Beach Chamber Singers. Her operatic roles include Sophie in Antony Pitts’ Anna’s Rapid Eye Movement with The Song Company and Roberta in Sally Greenaway’s Da Vinci’s Apprentice for Musica Viva Australia in Schools. She has also appeared as a featured artist at the n.e.o Voice Festival in Los Angeles in 2025 and 2026, alongside performances at festivals, recital series and venues across Australia and the United States.
In jazz, Alex is a vocalist and looping artist with a particular interest in celebrating Australian repertoire. Her debut album, From Here, was released on ABC Jazz in 2024, featuring Australian jazz standards recorded with Andrew Dickeson, Aaron Blakey and Jacob Graham. She has also collaborated with contemporary musicians including Gerald Clayton, Gian Slater, Barney McAll and Paul Grabowsky, performing in projects that bring together jazz, improvisation and contemporary musical practice.

ENSEMBLE SINGER
Alex Siegers is an Australian ensemble vocalist based in Los Angeles, with extensive experience across early music, sacred music, opera, contemporary composition and concert choral repertoire. She has performed with leading Australian ensembles including The Song Company, Sydney Chamber Choir, Sydney Philharmonia Choirs, Luminescence Chamber Singers, Cantillation, The Australian Voices and the Choir of St James’ King Street. Her performance experience also includes opera and oratorio choruses with organisations such as the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and Valley Opera Performing Arts.
Alex's love of early music is rooted in its history, intimacy, purity of tuning and intricacy. She is fascinated by the way independent musical lines interact, and by the concentration and sensitivity required to bring complex polyphony to life. Her work in this repertoire has included performances at the Tapestry Early Music Festival in Singapore, the Coriole Music Festival and the Canberra International Music Festival, as well as touring and recording projects with The Song Company and other chamber ensembles.
Alongside this historically informed repertoire, Alex has a strong interest in contemporary vocal music and collaborative performance. Her recording credits include projects with The Song Company, The Choir Lab, Sydney Chamber Choir and Tonality. She is currently a member of Tonality, Choral Arts Initiative and C3LA in Los Angeles, and is on the auxiliary roster of the Los Angeles Master Chorale. Across these varied settings, she values the shared musical curiosity, attentive listening and collective expression at the heart of ensemble singing.
EDUCATOR
Alex is a vocalist and educator who believes that everyone can (and should!) experience the joy of singing. Her work in music education has taken her from school-based performance and outreach to tertiary teaching, vocal coaching and ensemble leadership. Across these settings, she is passionate about creating welcoming, inclusive environments where singers can develop their skills, build confidence and discover the expressive possibilities of their voices.
Through her work with Musica Viva Australia in Schools, Alex performed as the lead role in Da Vinci’s Apprentice, engaging young audiences through live music and educational performance. She has also worked as a Casual Academic at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, drawing on her background in jazz performance, musicianship and vocal practice. Her experience as a performer across jazz, early music, contemporary and choral settings informs an adaptable approach to teaching, with an appreciation for the different skills and ways of listening that each musical tradition requires.
As an educator, Alex is interested in more than vocal technique alone. She values the development of musical independence, curiosity, creativity and collaborative skills, and believes that singing can be a powerful way to connect people with music and with one another. Whether working with individual singers or groups, her aim is to support each person's musical growth while fostering a sense of belonging and shared discovery.
